Comment

This is the first "Doraemon" movie to be made after the death of Fujiko F. Fujio. This movie is based on two works that he made before he died. Common themes run though all of his works, love and friendship, dreams and hope and the importance of protecting our environment. The entire staff wanted to keep this spirit alive and I think it made this a powerful work. The winning of this award will be a great boost for the movie "Doraemon" and all of the staff are very happy.

Reason for Award

This work is done so well that it rightfully deserves recognition as the pinnacle of what feature-length children's animation is all about. The producers continue to release a new "Doraemon" feature every year, but they have lost none of their quality, interest and appeal. These are works that give you the strength to live life as a human being, a testament to how well his successors have understood the ideals of the late creator.
