Comment

This work made me feeling so happy while producing it. I, a free lance comic artist, sometimes wondered if I'm really creating something like an ancient samurai-warrior. But it was beyond my expectation to receive such a great award. I was having a very good time to work on this BAKA-KYODAI in the silence after midnight. To receive the award is for me something like finding an unexpected fruit in the garden. Thank you very much.

Reason for Award

"Baka Shitei (Stupid Sister And Brother)" is a strange title, and so is characters' behavior. They behave in an erratic way and the story often comes to an unexpected ending. But, that's what kids are all about. This author closely observes and has a deep understanding of the "ecology" of kids, and quietly observes and laughs at adults who are twisted around kids' little finger and thrown into total confusion.
