Ars Electronica and Japan Media Arts Festival have kept the cooperative relation since 2003 and have maintained energetic activities in Linz and Tokyo. Japan Media Arts Festival has learned a lot from and has been inspired by Ars Electronica.
It is a great honor that we will be able to hold the exhibition of Japan Media Arts Festival in Linz in the 30th memorable anniversary year of Ars Electronica. And this is the first-time exhibition in Europe for Japan Media Arts Festival.

Japan Media Arts Festival in Linz “JAPAN GAME” is focusing on a aspect of entertainment in Japanese media arts. The selected award-winning game works of Japan Media Arts Festival are exhibited. All the games in the variety of Sports, Music, Adventure, etc. are playable. In the nights, the tournaments of the games will be held on a huge screen. We hope the audience to enjoy and focus on the artistic expression and the similarity to media art of the games.
